A couple of months ago, the Chummy Chum Foundation received an email from Kuya Chris, who excitedly expressed his wish to celebrate his birthday with underserved children. He planned to share this special day with a friend. After a long thread of email communications and WhatsApp chats, the day finally arrived.

The Chummy Chum team, along with Kuya Chris and Kuya Jerome, decided to bring joy to the children of the ERMA Community, who were about to leave their home in Brgy. 825 after nearly a year of residence. Their families were being relocated to Quezon and Rizal provinces. It was a poignant moment as they bid farewell to a community that had become their home, despite the simple and often challenging daily life they experienced.

Kuya Chris and Kuya Jerome arrived at the venue just as the Chummy Chum team did, ensuring that they would create nothing but fun and happy memories for the children.

The program featured a lively clown who performed a puppet and magic show, captivating the kids. They also enjoyed face painting for the first time, making every second a joyful experience. The highlight was when Chummy Chum, the beloved mascot, joined in to play and dance with the children. Though it was their first meeting, the connection was instant.

Kuya Chris, Kuya Jerome, and their friends were equally delighted, as the moment seemed to transport them back to their own childhoods.

The children received food packs, delicious treats, toys, and special gifts from Chummy Chum, Kuya Chris, and their friends.

Although the event was brief, it was undoubtedly a successful one—one of the happiest farewell celebrations we could ever have known.

Happy Birthday, Kuya Chris and Kuya Jerome!
