Princess Akame Roy Mercado, 2, Case: Yolk Sac Tumor
Baby Princess was diagnosed with a rare cancer of the cell. She is on a 6-month maintenance medicine after she was released from the Philippine Children Medical Center (PCMC) last November 2020, where she had her chemotherapy cycle. She was supposed to return to the hospital last December 2020 for follow on tests that did not happen as the family had no resources for the medical management of the sick child. Baby Princess is the 2nd among three little children (ages 1, 2, 3). Recently, the family was evicted from their rented house due to failure to pay the rental fee. They are currently staying at their friend’s house. The father has just started to work again after he lost his job during the pandemic.
With the loving heart of the Chummy Chum Foundation, its founders, and the entire team, baby Princess received cash assistance for her medical needs, formula milk, toys, a set of coloring books with crayons, and something to share with her siblings and the whole family.
