Turn-over of Bears of Joy
SM City Sucat to Chummy Chum Foundation
Chummy Chum was the sole beneficiary of the Bears of Joy project by SM City Sucat. Today marked the turnover of the adorable bears to the foundation.
With a great sense of gratitude, the Chummy Chum Foundation Philippines, Inc. welcomed the SM City Sucat team led by Ms. Mina, Ms. Jheiky and Ms. Leah, who brought boxes of Bears of Joy. Joining the event were children from some of the poorest families in Fourth Estate, in cooperation with Grandma Amari of SPECS Foundation. The Chummy Chum team organized a heartwarming charity event to make the turnover truly memorable.
The Chummy Chum team picked up the children from their community using the Chummy Chum van, accompanied by Grandma Amari and an assistant. The children were thrilled as they arrived at the Chummy Chum office and became even more excited upon seeing the front yard filled with yummy treats, balloons, and neatly arranged gifts. It was clear that everything they saw was prepared just for them.
While waiting for the SM City Sucat team to arrive, Rowena, the event team head of the Chummy Chum Foundation, hosted several parlor games with prizes, adding fun and excitement for the kids.
When the SM City Sucat team finally arrived, they took charge of the program and brought their own magical touch to cheer up the children. As a surprise, each child was given a cuddly bear, which brought immense joy and excitement. While the festivities were underway, popcorn and cotton candy were served, with some of the children experiencing cotton candy for the very first time.
The highlight of the event was when Chummy Chum, the beloved mascot, made a special appearance. The children’s faces lit up with happiness as they danced and played with Chummy Chum, making the moment unforgettable.
Towards the end of the program, the Chummy Chum Foundation presented a certificate of appreciation to SM City Sucat for their generous donation of 636 colorful bears, which are set to bring joy to 636 children who have yet to receive their own stuffed toys.
Each child also received food packs, toys, and special gifts from the Chummy Chum Foundation. Though the event was brief, it was a meaningful and joyful start to 2025.

The day was a testament to the power of kindness and community, creating smiles and precious memories for children in need.
