In the face of the severe weather brought by Super Typhoon Enteng, the Chummy Chum team showed extraordinary determination and courage. Despite the darkened skies, torrential rain, and threatening floods, the team pressed on, guided by a steadfast commitment to their mission. Their perseverance ensured that they could safely reach the children they had promised the barangay church official to visit.
The children, initially disheartened by the heavy rain, were overjoyed when the team arrived at the barangay church as planned. The sight of the team setting up tables laden with delicious treats, toys, and special gifts sparked excitement and anticipation among the children.
Seated on the floor, the children eagerly awaited a surprise. Their faces lit up with pure delight when Chummy Chum, the beloved mascot, made a grand entrance. The atmosphere instantly transformed into a celebration filled with laughter, playtime, and joyful interactions, as Chummy Chum engaged with the children with infectious enthusiasm.
The children enjoyed a hearty meal of hot champorado, sandwiches, sweet apple fruit, popcorn, and cold juice. Each child also received a special gift and had the opportunity to choose a toy from the table. Little girls were particularly thrilled with their new house clothes, which seemed to fit perfectly.
Though brief, the event was a cherished moment for the children, marking one of their most special days.
