The Chummy Chum Foundation’s next stop in bringing joy to children from poor families affected by Typhoon Enteng was Brgy. Tramo, Makati City.
Despite the gloomy weather, the team set up tables with food and gifts, hoping to avoid the rain. Chummy Chum, the mascot, couldn’t meet the children due to the unpredictable heavy rain showers.
With the help of volunteers, the children were gathered and formed an orderly line, patiently awaiting their blessings. Each child received a bowl of delicious macaroni salad, an apple, biscuits, juice, special gifts, and a house dress, along with a 2-kg rice pack for their family and new undergarments for their elders.
In that moment, the children felt seen, loved, and cared for. Smiles painted on their faces that no amount of money can compensate.
Though everything went quickly, it created lasting memories for the children. Special thanks to Mam Jenny Pullon for the house dresses, CLI for the undergarments, and ATI for the rice packs, as well as to all volunteers for ensuring the children's safety and order.
