Bringing Joy Amidst Adversity: Chummy Chum Foundation’s Halloween Charity Party

26 October 2024

Brgy, Mambugan Antipolo City

In the aftermath of Typhoon Kristine, which left a profound impact on countless Filipino households, the Chummy Chum Foundation refused to remain idle. The storm not only wreaked havoc across the nation but also instilled fear in nearly half the population. Aware of the overwhelming challenges faced by families, especially children, the foundation, alongside WeCarePh, took swift action to uplift spirits in one of the hardest-hit areas: Antipolo City.

Understanding the helplessness many children felt during this difficult time, the Chummy Chum team organized a Halloween charity party designed to spread joy and hope. The event was a much-needed respite, allowing children to experience a sense of normalcy and celebration amidst the chaos.

The program kicked off with a heartfelt prayer, setting a tone of gratitude and resilience. Laughter soon filled the air as a whimsical clown took the stage, entertaining the children with a magic show that captivated their imaginations. Parlor games further energized the crowd, bringing smiles and camaraderie.

One of the highlights of the day was the face painting station, where children enjoyed transforming into their favorite characters—a first-time experience for many. But the true showstopper was the beloved Chummy Chum mascot. His energetic dance performance drew the children in, inviting them to join in the fun under a shower of bubbles, creating a magical atmosphere.

The festivities were complemented by delicious treats, ensuring that every child felt cherished. Special gifts, thoughtfully prepared by the Chummy Chum Foundation and WeCarePh, were distributed, leaving each child with a tangible reminder of the day’s joy.

Though the event was brief, it left a lasting impact. For those few hours, the children felt seen, loved, and cared for, embracing a glimmer of hope amidst their hardships.

Special thanks to sir Albino Yacial for the chocolate mallows and assorted biscuits, and Clearlogic Inc. for the undergarments donated to the families of victims of the devastating typhoon.
