“Never get tired of doing little things for others. Sometimes those little things occupy the biggest parts of their hearts.” (a wise man once said).
It was a fine day, the children from one of the poorest communities along the creek side of C5 Extension, Paranaque City were surprised by a visit from volunteers with gifts and food from the Chummy Chum Foundation Philippines, Inc. More than 300 children were just so pleased, happy, and grateful to receive ice cream, popular kid food like burger steak and cheesy hotdog with fruit juices, and pairs of slippers.
(Originally, there were only 120 children to be catered. But when the children from the other side of the community heard about the gift-giving, they’ve made their way into the venue. The children who got the stub for food and slippers did not hesitate to share what they have with the other children who didn’t have the stub. So there were more than 300 children who received the gift of love. These children may have been poor in possession but rich in good deeds and certainly kind-hearted souls.)
Meeting these children face to face, handing over each goody to each and every child, and just being with them for that brief but precious moment, was all worth it. There was so much joy in the air.
Thank you very much who have made all these possible.
