SNED Batino Elementary School
Celebrating a simply awesome day, Chummy Chum, in collaboration with WeCarePH and the ever-generous Ms. Oyen, paid a delightful visit to Batino Elementary School's Special Needs Education (SNED) Division in Quezon City.
The event was filled with heartwarming moments, laughter, and unforgettable experiences for children with special needs.
As the Chummy Chum team arrived, the program was already in full swing with a special session teaching the rights of children with autism and how to support them in challenging situations. The event was called “Different but not Less”.
The atmosphere was both educational and uplifting.
Without missing a beat, the team got straight to work, setting up booths filled with delicious treats. The irresistible scent of freshly popped popcorn and sweet cotton candy filled the air. The excitement continued as loot bags and toys generously provided by Ms. Oyen were prepared for the children, along with the adorable SM Bears of Joy donated by SM City Sucat as prizes for the games.
The highlight of the day came when Chummy Chum made a grand appearance, much to the delight of the children. Their faces lit up with joy as the lovable mascot danced and played with them. The children, unable to resist Chummy Chum’s infectious energy, eagerly joined in, mimicking every move and sharing in the fun.
The scene was magical—a beautiful moment where children, at times misunderstood or underestimated, were simply enjoying being kids. They laughed, danced, and hugged Chummy Chum without hesitation. For that brief time, they were no different from any other children reveling in the joy of a lively celebration.
After the dance, Chummy Chum personally distributed gifts to the children, creating memories they would surely cherish for a long time. Teachers, parents, and care workers watched with happy hearts, grateful for an event that brought immense happiness to their young learners.
This event was a beautiful reminder that with love, understanding, and a bit of magic, we can make a world of difference in the lives of children with special needs.
A special thank you goes out to Ms. Oyen for the thoughtful toys and to SM City Sucat for the Bears of Joy.
