Chummy Chum Brings Hope and Love to Children Affected by House Fire

Chummy Chum brought smiles and hope to children affected by a devastating house fire. The children and their families had been staying in a temporary shelter at the barangay-covered court.

As the event preparations were underway, the children's faces lit up with excitement, eager to see the toys and gifts that had been thoughtfully prepared for them. However, as they began to share their heartbreaking experiences, it became evident that the fire had taken away more than just material possessions. The children spoke of losing their toys, school supplies, and cherished belongings—things that had been a part of their daily lives. At that moment, many of them could do nothing but cry.

A stress debriefing session was conducted to help the children process the trauma. Initially, some of the families thought the Chummy Chum team was affiliated with political figures, but they were reassured that the foundation's mission was not politically driven and aimed to bring joy to the most in need children.

When Chummy Chum (the beloved mascot) arrived, the atmosphere quickly shifted. The children shouted with joy and rushed to embrace Chummy Chum, overwhelmed with gratitude for the love, time, and gifts they received.

Special thanks to SM City Sucat for their generous donation of the lovely bears shared with the children. This act of kindness went beyond just providing material support—it showed the children that they were loved, cared for, and not forgotten.
