OPD Justice Jose Abad Santos
General Hospital (JJASGH)
Tondo, Manila
Chummy Chum visited the children at Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital. Upon arrival, the mascot playfully stationed himself at the gate, surprising children as they came and went. Due to hospital policy and health protocols, the number of volunteers and movements inside the premises was limited.
The team was accommodated in the hallway of the Director’s Office, where the children from the OPD were gathered to celebrate International Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) week.
Although Chummy Chum seems several meters away, the children still felt his presence through cuddly Chummy Chum pillows given to kids ages 2 – 6. The team distributed yummy treats and special gifts they had prepared. Each child also received a pack of 3 hypo-allergenic face masks, ensuring their safety even in critical conditions (courtesy of Clearlogic Inc).
The atmosphere may not have been as lively as they would have liked, but the visit and time spent with them had given a positive impact on both the children and their parents. It made them feel loved and cared for.
The doctors, nurses, and staff at JJASGH were deeply grateful for Chummy Chum’s unwavering love for the children and his ability to bring joy to those who need it most.
