Chummy Chum Foundation always strives to provide any assistance to children who are in need the most. The foundation and its volunteers visited the OPD of East Avenue Medical Center, to entertain and give gifts to the sick children. It has been over 10 years since Chummy Chum Foundation partnered with East Avenue Medical Center under the leadership of the OPD secretary Julie. Everyday this OPD receives different sick children with different medical cases from mild to chronic and has always been jampacked in the morning with 50 patients. The hospital is situated strategically at the center of the city, convenient for the patients to come and go. On this day, the team once again held a charity event in this hospital, that once had a problematic parking area. Good thing, that day everything was smooth as Chummy Chum truck parked. This goes with the Filipino saying, “Kung gusto may paraan, kung ayaw maraming dahilan” (There’s a lot of ways if you want things to happen, but there are tons of excuses if you don’t). While the team was setting up the booth, the nurse announced that Chummy Chum freebies and treats were readily available. Children who had just received their medical treatment came first to the line followed by those who were still waiting for their turn. Some of the weak ailing children suddenly became active as soon as they meet Chummy Chum and had a picture with him.
