Chummy Chum once again visited the National Children’s Hospital (NCH) in support of the voluntary partner-donor Ms. Rachelle of NCH, and WeCARE Philippines. WeCARE stands for “We Connect, Act and Respond to Emergencies” and is a nonprofit emergency response platform that easily connects individuals or groups willing to support communities that require assistance during a crisis.
The Chummy Chum team and the voluntary partner-donor started to set up the table of goodies and gifts, as well as the popcorn machine at the OPD Pedia Department. While the popcorn was being distributed, the Chummy Chum’s jingle medley was played softly (as they did not want to disturb other patients who have been confined and recovering at that time), and Chummy Chum appeared to sway gently as he walked toward the children. Hugs, high-fives, and fist bumps exchange were up. The children were very happy as if forgetting their pain due to the health condition they have been suffering from.
The tables of gifts and freebies had attracted both parents and children in the queue at the OPD ward. They began to swarm up reaching for the gifts they knew were intended for their children. With the help of the nurses and hospital staff, the distribution of gifts was carried out in an orderly manner, and everyone was truly happy.
Thank you for the unending love and support from the founders of the Chummy Chum Foundation, the tireless effort of the Chummy Chum team, and our voluntary partner-donors Pinkrocket for hundred of cups of Korean rice pasta.
