No. 96: Prince Alcris Echavez, 4, Cerebral Palsy Spastic Diplegia GDD Nystagmus Eyes, PGH
Prince has cerebral palsy and nystagmus eyes. He might still consider a bit lucky compared to all other patients that we have met and served, but the conflicting situation of the family members makes it difficult for Prince to cope up with his own health struggles. Aside from Prince who needs full medical attention, the parents also take care of the other family members: The mother-in-law has Alzheimer’s disease (recently she got bedsore), the father-in-law has chronic diabetes, and the brother-in-law developed severe depression and could not fit himself for work. The mother cries out for help, at least help for his sick child who needs maintenance medicine, and proper nourishment that they could not provide due to overwhelming health issues in the family.
Though this case is not the usual scenario of our beneficiaries, Chummy Chum sees how Prince’s health and medical condition is affected by the family’s struggles. Considerately, Chummy Chum sent help for little Prince. He received cash assistance for his maintenance medicine and medical management, a formula milk for his nourishment, and grocery items to share with the family.
