The Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC) has been a frequent destination for the Chummy Chum Foundation, dedicated to bringing joy to young patients undergoing treatment or confined for care.
This time, the visit held a special meaning. It was inspired by the heartfelt wish of Ms. Nanette Lim, a kind and caring woman from abroad, who asked the foundation to visit the children on her behalf. The Chummy Chum team warmly granted her request, ensuring everything was thoughtfully planned.
Upon arrival at PCMC, the team proceeded directly to the designated area at the Outpatient Department (OPD), seamlessly coordinating with the hospital staff. Before the program began, each child received a Chummy Chum wristband as their “pass” to join the event. To ensure safety and security, the hospital administration limited the number of children attending.
The highlight of the visit was none other than Chummy Chum, the beloved mascot. He brought smiles and excitement as he greeted the children and even assisted in distributing food and gifts. It was heartwarming to see how the children hugged and gazed at Chummy Chum with pure joy. For a brief moment, they seemed to forget their illness, simply enjoying the happiness of the occasion.
Each child received food packs and toys from Ms. Nanette, along with delicious treats and special gifts from the Chummy Chum team. Additionally, a few selected children were surprised with “Bears of Joy” donated by SM City Sucat.
Though the moment was brief, it was undeniably meaningful and successful. It only proves that love and laughter heal. The Chummy Chum Foundation's Charity Of Love continues to remind us all of the power of kindness and how a little effort can bring so much joy to those who need it most.
