More Than a Hug: Chummy Chum’s Deep Connection with Children in Need

Chummy Chum’s love is truly profound. It reaches deep into the hearts of children with special needs, connecting with their imaginative and pure spirits in a way that is unparalleled. Among all the stories of smiles that Chummy Chum has experienced, this bond is by far the most meaningful.

When Chummy Chum received a collaboration request from the Department of Public Relations and Outreach (DPRO) of the Olivarez College, Grade 12 department, the terms of the collaboration were carefully aligned with the mission of the foundation. Everything was set, and the stage was prepared for a day of connection and joy.

On the day of the event, the Chummy Chum team arrived early at the venue in Brgy. Sto.Nino, Paranaque, to set up their booth, working alongside the booth prepared by the students. The students had thoughtfully organized a program that included several fun parlor games, which all the children eagerly participated in. But the moment that truly captured their hearts was when Chummy Chum, the mascot, made his entrance. The children’s faces lit up with pure excitement and wonder. The magic of Chummy Chum’s presence was undeniable. Many of the children, without hesitation, rushed to hug him. These were not just simple embraces; they were heartfelt expressions of love and connection, felt deeply through the person inside the mascot costume.

The Chummy Chum team, led by its Operations Manager, shared the foundation’s mission, vision, and goals with the audience. It was evident that the foundation’s work went far beyond simply participating in an outreach program—it was about embodying the true spirit of the Charity of Love, offering both joy and hope to children with special needs.

The teachers, parents, and school staff were immensely grateful for the Chummy Chum Foundation’s involvement. They recognized that the foundation’s purpose went beyond the event—it was about touching lives and showing that every child, especially those with special needs, is deserving of love, care, and inclusion. Inspired by the experience, they vowed to continue helping the most in-need children whenever the opportunity arose.
