October 14,2022: San Lazaro Hospital, H4 Section.
The Chummy Chum team visited the children who have been inflicted with HIV by parents during pregnancy, childbirth, or breastfeeding. The common infections in HIV-positive children include ear and sinus infections, sepsis, pneumonia, tuberculosis, urinary tract infections, intestinal illness, skin disease, and meningitis.
Chummy Chum brought fun and surprises to the children at the HIV and Out Patient section of San Lazaro Hospital located at Quericada St. Manila.
Chummy Chum (the mascot) met with the children and stayed for a while with them. He helped in the distribution of the food, gifts, and yummy treats, together with the other members of the team.
The children were very excited and happy choosing toys and receiving food and other gifts especially prepared for them, while the Chummy Chum songs were playing in the background.
Thank you Chummy Chum for your commitment to giving joy to all the children who have battles on their own at a very young age. Thank you too to the volunteer-partner donors – Ms. E for food and drinks, and gifts inside the loot bags, Ms. Rona for the dainty paper bags, Ms. Fatima for VSoy Multigrain Milk, and Geschaft and Bahay Aruga, Paranaque for toys.
We intended not to disclose the photos of the kids and parents for their protection.
